DESCRIPTION

pH tester for liquid solution:

This pH meter features an easy-to-read LCD display that shows both pH and temperature, as well as calibration stability, and a low battery indicator that appears when less than 10% of the battery life remains. With a choice of automatic shutoff after 8 minutes, 60 minutes, or off. All operations are simplified with two buttons. One turns the tester on or off, and the other allows for automatic calibration of one or two points (pH4 and pH7 or pH7 and pH10). Integrated temperature sensor with fabric junction provides a larger testing surface than a standard ceramic junction.

    Soil pH measurement method:

HI98118 can be used to measure pH in soils as well as nutrient solutions. North Carolina State University has described a procedure known as the pour-sample method. This method is used for potted plants, in which 50 ml of leachate is collected from a thoroughly watered plant and then tested. To measure soil pH in slurry form, the USDA (Natural Resources Conservation Service) recommends a mixture of 1 part soil to 1 part water. The slurry is allowed to sit for 10 minutes so that the solids can settle and the pH of the liquid above can be measured.
