For shredding plastics, rubber, films, leather, fabrics, fibers, wood, leaves, roots, fodder, grain, corn, peat, tobacco, straw, paper, cardboard, derived fuels, metal-free waste, household waste, composites, mobile phone LCD screens, mobile phone keyboards, microchips, printed circuit boards (assembled and disassembled), coal, bones, horn, dragees, tablets, cork, medicines, heterogeneous mixtures of materials, corn, malt, pasta, herbs, spices, and dried meat.

A special advantage: Straw, films, and similar materials can be fed to their full length without additional preparation.

The knife mill uses a rotor equipped with knives in combination with fixed stator knives to grind through cutting and shear forces. Due to the progressive cutting geometry between the rotor's cutting edges and the fixed knives in the grinding chamber, the sample material is automatically evacuated and, as a result, increasingly finely fragmented by the shear forces between the knives until the desired final fineness is achieved.

The practical FRITSCH sieve cassette automatically ensures the optimal distance to the rotor, and since there are virtually no dead spaces, the sample cannot come to rest anywhere. At the same time, the special FRITSCH airflow automatically transports the finished ground sample to the practical collection drawer or a larger collection vessel due to the strong airflow.

As part of the PULVERISETTE 19, FRITSCH has patented a sample enhancer with a cyclone separator. This powerful vacuum function, based on negative pressure, provides simple feeding, a fast flow rate, and good cooling. It effectively prevents sample material from escaping during feeding, and opens up new possibilities in the processing of heterogeneous mixtures of materials, such as fuel derivatives in the cement industry.

The powerful air vortex in the FRITSCH cyclone separator draws the ground sample into the attached glass sample bottle. Fine dust is retained by the ultra-fine HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air Filter). FRITSCH offers two models:
