DESCRIPTION

The HI7061L is a general-purpose cleaning solution for use with pH and ORP electrodes, suitable for a variety of applications. pH electrodes can become dirty with use, leading to inaccurate results. Use the general-purpose pH electrode cleaning solution to extend the life of your electrode and ensure accurate readings.

The most common cause of pH measurement inaccuracies is a dirty or poorly cleaned electrode. This is very important to note because during calibration, the instrument assumes that the electrode is clean and that the normalization curve created during the calibration process will remain a valid reference until the next calibration. Today’s pH meters typically allow an offset voltage of about ±60 mV. A deviation from 0 mV is not unusual, but ideally, it should not exceed ±30 mV. The calibration process compensates for changes in offset voltage. If the mV offset continues to drift and the meter is calibrated with a dirty electrode, inaccurate readings will result.

Cleaning is a quick and effective routine that should be performed regularly as a preventive measure against using a dirty electrode and to ensure the junction is not clogged. Simply immersing the electrode in the HI7061L cleaning solution for 15 to 20 minutes will dissolve mineral deposits or other coatings.
