The HI753 Chloride Photometer bridges the gap between simple chemical test kits and professional instruments. Since chemical test kits have limited accuracy and resolution, relying on the human eye to discern color differences.

Professional instruments incorporate a light source, such as an LED with a filter, and a light detector to accurately determine absorbance and ion concentration. They offer higher resolution and accuracy but can be expensive.

The HI753 Chloride Photometer uses a fixed-wavelength LED and a silicon photodetector to provide professional instrument-level accuracy at the affordable price of a chemical test kit.
