DESCRIPTION

Easy to clean electrode:

The HI1131B is a glass-body combination pH electrode with a BNC connector for quick and easy connection to any BNC pH meter. Featuring a double-junction design and the ability to replace contaminated electrolyte, this economical pH electrode delivers excellent results.

    High temperature glass formulation:

High-temperature glass can withstand the effects of high temperatures, resulting in a longer probe life. The HI1131B pH electrode uses high-temperature glass, a spherical bulb, a glass body, a single ceramic frit, a double junction, and is refillable with 3.5 M KCl.

    Spherical glass tip:

The spherical tip design allows for a larger contact area with the sample for faster measurement, making it ideal for general laboratory use.

    Single ceramic double junction reference:

The junction, also known as a salt bridge, is a necessary component of the electrical circuit. Ion movement must cross the junction for a consistent reading. Ceramic is a porous material that easily fuses with the glass body and has a similar coefficient of expansion. The HI1131B has a double junction design. pH electrodes are available in single or double junction versions. See our blog for a full description.

    Rechargeable:

HI1131B is a refillable probe. The refill solution is HI7082 3.5M KCl. This solution does not contain silver as with a single junction electrode. The absence of silver will prevent any precipitate from forming on the surface of the junction and clogging it. Clogging of the junction will result in drifting and erratic readings.
